How to Appy to Schools in Israel
September/October
- Schedule a meeting with Mrs. Brand or Mrs. Sklar to discuss your options
- Work on Essay
- A copy of your essay must be submitted to Ms. Davis by October 13, 2009. You can either hand in a print copy or email it to davis@yuhsg.org
- Hand in a copy of the YUHSG Israel Planning form and a list of your extra-curricular activities to Ms. Davis by October 13, 2009 (The day we come back from Sukkot vacation). This is not binding – but a tool to focus your goals.
- Approach teachers and request a recommendation
- Provide them with the proper form
- Provide them with a self-adresses stamped envelope to the school
- Remember to follow up with a note of thanks

- Essay (due October 13th)

November
- Informational evening- Wednesday, November 11th @ YUHSG
- Stern Open House and Israel Fair - Sunday, November 15th
- Visits by representativies of the yeshivot
- Schedules of these visits will be posted outside the library for updates. Some interviews will take place on the same day as the shiur)

- Complete application form and mail out with plenty of time to spare
- Mail out application with application fee with plenty of time to spare (at least a week before the deadline). The dates for application can be found on the application form. The joint application needs to be in by December 1, 2009 [should be sent in no later than November 25, 2009].
- Fill out YU’s S. Daniel Abraham Israel Program forms, if going to a school that is effiliated with YU and $250 nonrefundable deposit:
- Intent-to-enroll form
- The Israel Participation Form

January
- Results are in
February
- Fill out scholarship applications
- Inform the school of your choice of your desire to enroll
- Mail first check
