Ms. Michal Davis

Ms. Davis's Website
Ms. Michal Davis is our School Library Media Specialist. She developed and teaches the ninth grade Research Skills course. Ms. Davis is also coordinating guidance for the “Year in Israel” for the twelfth grade.
She holds a B.A. from Queens College in History and Early Education and was a member of the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society. She also holds a Master’s degree in Library Science from Queens College and a Master’s in Curriculum Instruction from Capella University. She’s permanently certified by N.Y. State as a School Library Media Specialist. Ms. Davis was Program Specialist at Nassau BOCES School Library System and taught at Yeshivat Ohr Haiim. She chairs the Accreditation Committee of the Association of Jewish Libraries. Ms. Davis is currently attending St. John’s University working towards a Master degree in school building administration.
Ms. Shani Hochbaum

Ms. Shani Hochbaum isour Student Activities Coordinator. A proud YUHSG graduate, she also studied at Michlelet Mevaseret Yerushalayim and Stern College for Women. She is currently attending Queens College, and hopes to pursue a graduate degree in Jewish education. Ms. Hochbaum has also been a member of the staff at Camp Mesorah and Camp Morasha.
Ms. Hochbaum serves as the director of YUHSG’s highly acclaimed school play and as the Faculty Advisor of our award-winning school choir.
Mrs. Esta Korn

Mrs. Esta Korn is our School Secretary. She has provided YUHSG with twenty-six years of dedicated service.
Mrs. Debra L. Solomon
Director of College Guidance

Mrs. Debra L. Solomon is our Director of College Guidance. She received a B.A. from Queens College in History and Sociology with a minor in Education. She also holds an M.S. Ed. Cum Laude in High School Guidance Counseling from St. John’s University. She has taught Advanced Placement and Regents American History, as well as Social Studies, at several New York area yeshiva high schools.
For six years, she served as Director of College Guidance at the Rambam Mesivta, where she was also SAT Test Supervisor and Advanced Placement Coordinator.
Mrs. Solomon is a member of the New York State Association of College Admissions Counselors. She is also currently staffed at Stern College for Women as a Pre-Health Advisor for undergraduates seeking nursing and physician assistants’ programs. Her background as a registered nurse as well as a guidance counselor combines the skills necessary to advocate for these college students.
Mr. Brian Walowitz
Technology Coordinator

Mr. Brian Walowitz is our Technology Coordinator. He is responsible for maintaining YUHSG’s computer network system and keeping our systems up-to-date. He assists faculty and administration in integrating computer technology into the classroom.
Before coming to YUHSG, Mr. Walowitz served as Computer/Network Technician in the Bellmore-Merrick High School District. He holds a B.A. in Computer Networking from Briarcliffe College.
Mrs. Danielle Wyner
Director of Student Life

Mrs. Danielle Wyner is our Director of Student Life. She is a New York State Licensed Master Social Worker, having received her MSW degree from Adelphi University. She also holds a B.A. in Psychology from Queens College. In
addition to regular meeting with the students for academic and social development, she coordinates the Faculty Mentors as part of the SPRITE Mentoring program.
Prior to her “return” to YUHSG (she is one of our honored alumnae), Mrs. Wyner served as the School Social Worker at the Hebrew Academy of Nassau County Middle School and High School, and as a psychotherapist at the South Shore Child Guidance Center.
